URGENT: PanGu JailBreak Bootloops

I owe I0n1c a huge apology. I was one of those people who doubted and were looking down at him. As I read further into his posts, I found out that apparently, this is actually a thing. With that being said, his points are showing up more and more that they did take more of his code than most people believe. Yes, it's true that the JailBreak was dangled in front of us a bit, but with that being said, it was a little plagiarized from him. It would be one thing if they took his exploit and then modified their code around it, however, this isn't seeming like the case anymore. Again, this paragraph of post is entirely opinionated and shouldn't be taken as fact yet until more develops.

For everyone else! There is a pretty big error in PanGu's code! It deals with the device going into a bootloop causing it to error in booting up the phone's software. It turns out that this has to due with the phone being in the darkness. Some models are affected, others aren't.

With that being said, there's a simple fix for this. Get your phone into the light or use a flashlight!

Either way, it's something people should be aware of. Some might consider it something minor, others might not. From what I understand, it deals with a big within PanGu's programming in where they have some unused code dealing with the proximity and light censors. Best be careful of this.

New YouTube Video! PPSync Removal.

PanGu has rather snuck a Chinese app into their JailBreak, known as PPSync. This app has been known to cause numerous issues in the past on iDevices in terms of causing crashes.

Here's how to get rid of it:

1. Go into Cydia.

2. Navigate to your sources at the bottom of the screen.

3. Click edit - add on the top of the screen.

4. Type in http://cydia.angelxwind.net and click add source.

5. In the All Packages menu of the source you just downloaded, scroll down to Complete PPSync Remover.

6. Click install.

7. Wait for your phone to get done and return to Cydia.

8. Navigate to your "installed" folder at the bottom of the screen.

9. Find PPstore and click on it

10. Click modify, then uninstall.

11. Optional: You may also want to check your settings - general - profiles to see if there is a 25pp certificate. If there is, delete it. On mine, there wasn't.

Again, as always, happy JailBreaking!

Featured Apps for JailBroken Devices

So, you've JailBroken your phone. Now what?? Well, you need to do things with it! You JailBroke for a reason right?

I'll go ahead and give you the reasons I JailBroke, and the apps (that atleast I consider) to be a necessity.

Activator - GET THIS APP. Plain and simple. This app is amazing if you're even in the slightest bit worried about someone taking your phone. The whole basis behind this app is that you can reroute different commands to do different functions than they were meant to do. So what if you want your home button to be the volume down button. You can do that. What if you want your phone to activate location services, 3G, 4G, LTE, whatever so you can locate the phone, all of which by a simple text message. Sounds a lot better huh? This app has all sorts of neat little quirks you can use and is considered invaluable to the JailBreaking community, and even required for some other tweaks.

iCaught u - So what if someone gets off with your phone and gets to someplace before you can send that text message? Here's where iCaught u comes in. This tweak allows you to, after a set number of wrong password attempts on your phone from the lock screen, send an email, location, map, and even picture of whatever the front camera is pointing at. I don't know about you, but any time I'm on my phone, it's bent at just the right angle to where no matter what, it's in perfect selfy view. Guess what that means for our crooks? Smile for the police!

Lock Safety - In leu of all of this, what's keeping bozo crook number one from just simply shutting down our phone? Well, this app will do just that. The downside of this app is that you no longer can turn off your phone from the lock screen, which is exactly what this app does. The crooks now have to go ahead and get past your lock screen pass code to get into your phone. With apple's new "do you trust this computer" feature, they have to get into your phone before they can do anything with it.

Q: sure these tweaks may leave my phone a brick for thieves, but these are no fun!! I want to be the Tony Stark of my phone. What do I do CenterBrick?

Winterboard - Most all iphone themes are processed through this app. You activate the themes through this app, and the app does the rest for you. Of course the themes are sepparate and you have to download them from Cydia, but atleast here is a start. There's some that are free, but a lot of the more elaborate, well updated themes cost money.

biteSMS - Others like different messaging apps for their phones. This one is my favorite. You no longer have to open the messaging app for your texts, and combined with a neat UI, this is what makes the tweak worth a "must have" sort of list. I haven't completely explored this app/tweak yet, but from what I've seen so far, it's very impressive.

If you have any issues with any of these apps (ie, I've had some issues with iCaught u in setting up the email a few tries), feel free to drop me a comment below. This is a working list that might get updated as I go.

Thanks guys!
